Day 1/31 JAN 2014: Friday

Arrival Trivandrum

Arrive Trivandrum by late evening flight @ 2245 hrs . On arrival at Trivandrum airport, the group will be met by our representative and then escorts you to your hotel at Kovalam.

Check – in your hotel UDAYA SAMUDRA.

Overnight stay.

Day 2 /01 FEB 2014 Saturday

At Kovalam
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast property inspection of Udaya Samudra Kovalam. Proceed for short guided Trivandrum sightseeing.

Trivandrum is an ancient city with tradition dating back to 1000 BC. Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of the state of Kerala is a beautiful seaside city built on seven hills. It is located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland spreading over a total of 2,192sq.km.

Sightseeing tour of Trivandrum covers Napier Museum :-

Sree Chitra Art Gallery :-

Napier Museum complex reveals a glimpse of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.. The Museum building is a combination of the Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian architectural styles.

Sree Chitra Art Gallery here features a rare collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Varma and Roerich among others, and fascinating works from the Mughal and Rajput.

Kuthiramalika Palace Museum :- , also known as Puthen Malika

Palace or Mansion of Horses, is a palace situated on the south-east side of Sree Padmanabhan Swami Temple. Kuthira Malika Palace is so called because of the shape of head carvings of the horses on the exterior walls. The palace was built by Maharaja Swathi Tirunal Balarama Varma, the King of Travancore, the palace is a fine example of the traditional Travancore style embellished with exquisite woodcarvings.

Padmanabhaswami Temple :-

After sightseeing Property inspection of The Leela Kovalam and Travancore Heritage Hosted lunch at Travancore HeritageBack to hotel, Evening Tuk tuk ride to the fish port to witness the fish auction. Property visit and hosted dinner at Turtle on beach. Overnight stay at Udaya Samudra.

Day 3 /02 FEB 2014 Sunday

Cochin – Alleppey

After breakfast depart for Alleppey referred to as the Venice of the East, Alappuzha has always enjoyed an important place in the maritime history of Kerala. Today, it is famous for its boat races, backwater holidays, and beaches.

Check-in your hotel Ramada Alleppey. Afternoon Hotel Inspection. Evening proceed for Lake Palace Alleppey for hotel inspection and hosted dinner. Back to Ramada, overnight stay.

Day 4/03 FEB 2014 Monday

: Alleppey – Cochin

Located inside the East Fort in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of the State of Kerala in India is the Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is a blend of the Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture.

Morning Breakfast at Hotel.

By noon 1130 hrs Board House Boat for Day cruise with Lunch on board. Enjoy the beauty of rural village life and backwaters. You can also witness occasional Temples and churches.

Disembark house boat in the evening at 0430 PM and proceed to Cochin hotel ,Crown Plaza evening property inspection.

Proceed property inspection of Fern Cochin , Hosted dinner at Fern.

Overnight stay at Crown Plaza.

Day 5/4 FEB 2014 Tuesday

At Cochin

After Breakfast proceed for Kumbalangi village visit. An island-village surrounded by backwaters and lush green paddy fields. An abundance of mangroves separates land from water, and provides a breeding ground for prawns, crabs, oysters and small fish. A ring of Chinese fishing nets
encircling Kumbalanghi bears witness to its rich aquatic life.

Upon arrival at the Kumbalanghi Bridge, we leave our vehicle and walk across to the jetty and embark the awaiting boat. Ride through the backwaters en route to Kallancherry Island, and see fisherman plying the waters en route. After disembarking our boat at the island, we are served a refreshing welcome drink.

Next we explore village life during a guided walking tour. View weavers at work on coir, watch local
ladies weave coconut leaves, and see how traditional Chinese fishing nets operate through a system of weights and levers. You can also observe ladies move in a row and ‘grope’ for fish with their bare hands. The village is also home to a crab farm, where you can try your hand at catching a crab.

Traditional Kerala Lunch will be served during the visit.

Proceed for half day guided Cochin sightseeing.

Cochin – Queen of the Arabian Sea’ and has in store for visitors some heritage sites as well as historic ones with a landscape crisscrossed by backwaters, which meet the Arabian Sea at various points.

Visit Jewish Synagogue in Jew Town The Jewish Synagogue in the port city of Kochi is the oldest synagogue in all the Commonwealth of Nations .

Visit Dutch Palace:- Built by the Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi, the Palace was renovated in1663 by the Dutch. It has has an exquisite collection of murals collectively covering over 300 sq. ft of its walls Also on display are royal
paraphernalia like weapons, swings and furniture which offer a glimpse of the lifestyle of the royal
family.

Visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European Church in India. See the Chinese Fishing
Nets, along the tip of Fort Cochin unique to this part of Kerala and living symbols of a centuries-old Chinese influence on this coast.

Evening Cultural Show (Kathakali dance ) visit – 5- 7 PM.

Site Inspection and Hosted Dinner at Casino.

Proceed to Hotel Le Meridien , Check-in hotel Overnight stay.

On time proceed to Airport for departure.
